You may be aware that the Spalding County EMA, Wellstar Health System, and other partners are planning to hold a full scale exercise on Wednesday, July 27, 2022 to test each system’s ability to respond to a disaster.  The exercise will involve a small plane crash and explosion and will be held at the C. H. Sanders Fire Station, located at 600 Carver Road, Griffin, GA.

They are looking for volunteers to make a call to check on their relative, or whether they are willing to make the drive to and from the hospital to play their part.

The crash is to occur at approximately 10:00 am, so we would play this out that family members would start to find out about the crash through local news, social media, or word of mouth, around 10:30 or after.  Not all of them would find out at the same time.
